My Little Bead Shop

Gail Lawrence started out making and selling jewellery at markets and local shows. However she found that it was always difficult to get a continuous supply of high quality beads that she liked at an affordable price. Gail saw the real need for a bead shop that would cater to people looking for a wider range of beading products than was generally available in the Brisbane area.

So, in May 2008 Gail and her husband Tony Lawrence opened My Little Bead Shop in Waterford Qld. After a few days promotion in a local shopping centre, My Little Bead Shop opened, with a very positive customer following far exceeding any expectations that Gail & Tony had.

Gail & Tonys goal is to stock a very extensive range of Lampwork beads, Foils and Czech crystals in all shapes, sizes and colours, a large range of economically priced strands and a good range of Lead and Nickel free findings, that have previously been very difficult to find in the Brisbane area.

Considering that many of Gail & Tonys customers who have shopped at other bead shops in the past have commented that My Little Bead Shop has a wide range of beads and findings that they haven’t seen elsewhere indicates that they are well on their way to achieving their goal.

One of the more difficult things for a new “Beader” is choosing what combinations of beads, colours and findings “Go Together” to make that perfectly matching project. Gail solved this problem, by designing a wide range of Kits and Projects to overcome the difficulties that her customers were having deciding what to choose. After a while Gail discovered that the kits that she had designed became one of the best selling items in the shop, selling to new and experienced “Beaders” alike.

Gail’s free classes have been a big hit with customers. Free classes are available each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All you pay for is the kit of your choice, which contains everything you need to make your project.

My Little Bead Shop exhibits at all the major bead shows in Qld and also runs smaller bead shows in a few country towns & cities. Free Beaders Club Membership is available. Members have access to emailed messages, with “Members Only” specials, promotions, and advance notice of sales etc. You can join online or call into the store.
